I love a chat

I've tried to answer the most common questions below, but you're welcome to get in touch with any others you might have or just to say hi. I'm always ready to talk weddings.

FAQs

What is your shooting style?

Natural, relaxed, candid. It's important to me that I capture the raw emotion and real moments of your day so I won't have you do anything that makes you uncomfortable. For the ceremony and reception and most of the day, I'm unobtrusive. For the portraits and couple shots I make suggestions based on light and location, and give guided directions to have you looking your best (there's no awkward!). I am all about those organic moments!

How many photos do you deliver from a wedding day?

I prefer to provide as many images as required to tell your story the best way I can so I'm not too hung up on numbers. As a guideline, 50+ photos per hour.

How long does it take to receive the photographs?

For full weddings, between 8 to 12 weeks depending on whether you get married in peak wedding season or not. I have high standards so it is important not to rush when editing as I want your images to be the best they can be for you. Elopements can be within 4 to 6 weeks season dependent.

Will you post photos of our wedding online?

I sometimes post one or two on social media after your sneak peek. This is a great way for you and your family and friends to have a fresh memory of your wedding and for me to share recent work. I love to feature your special day, so after you have received all of your wedding images, I may post some on my website and social channels. Sometimes blogs and magazines like to feature our work. I'll chat with you first if this happens.

Do you offer videography services?

I am a stills photographer but I do work with some very talented videographers so let me know if you'd like me to coordinate one into your package.

Do you just capture part of our wedding day?

As a visual storyteller, it's important for me to be able to capture enough moments during your day to tell your love story the best way I can. So whilst I don't need to be there for every second, if you only want a very small part of your day captured, we most likely aren't the best fit. I have tailored my packages to provide you with the best service I can.

Do you travel and do you shoot destination weddings?

Absolutely! I'm based in Martinborough, Wairarapa but I regularly shoot in Wellington, Kapiti and Auckland. I LOVE to travel and discover new places so I'm happy to go anywhere in New Zealand or worldwide. I have very reasonable set travel packages you can purchase, but let's chat about where you're getting married, as I do have accomodation in numerous places.

Can we meet before we book?

Yes please! I love to meet up and make sure we are all a good fit for each other. We can either do this via a video call or in person (over Margaritas?).

Do we need a second shooter?

I'm confident in photographing a full wedding day on my own, but let me know if you would like a second shooter. Having one means even more in-between moments and guests can be captured that I may not get to do on my own, especially at large weddings.

Can we print our images?

Of course! You'll receive print-ready high resolution copies of your images as well as web files. Ask for my recommended printers if you want the DIY option as the worst thing is to use a cheap printer!! Or else chat to me about the large variety of beautiful print products I can create for you (albums, custom framing, and fine art printing). You can also print straight from your gallery to my chosen professional print labs.

Do you have any recommended vendors?

Yes! I know and have worked with many epic vendors both in the Wairarapa and around NZ so I would love to recommend some superstars for you to add to your wedding team!

How do we book you?

You can get in touch via the enquiry form on the Contact Page or just send me an email direct to info@augustandvine.co.nz. To secure your wedding or elopement date, I require a non-refundable booking fee of $1k and a signed contract. It can all be done online and is super easy!
