Hey lovers, I'm Sam -
The face behind the lens at August & Vine and the creator, planner and photographer for the August & Vine Elopement Co.
I've partnered with the Wairarapa's best wedding artists, with support from a few Wellington experts too, and formed a creative community dedicated to bringing dreamy one-of-a-kind elopements to life here in the North Island - here in our stunning rural backyard.
PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE
I've been a recommended wedding photographer at many of Wairarapa's best venues including Rose & Smith, Tarureka Estate, Tironui Farm, Lacewood and Parehua and I'm also the current elopement photographer for Tarureka.
I have photographed for fashion labels, restaurant brands and theatre companies in Auckland, for many Martinborough wineries and businesses, been featured in print in Denizen, Cuisine, Dish, Good Magazine, and Wairarapa Lifestyle Magazine, and online for Together Journal, Wild Hearts, Polka Dot Weddings and Bride & Groom Magazine. I also have a sneaky degree in film and a diploma in photography.
PLANNING EXPERIENCE
There's many unknowns and logistics involved in planning your dream elopement wedding, so I knew I could help. With a background in event management for large scale events (Concerts like Coldplay & The Rolling Stones, and sports events like FIFA), I've also worked in brand marketing and been a General Manager of two hospitality companies. Essentially I've always worked in high stakes environments both overseas and here in NZ and been responsible for planning and decision making at the highest level. After finally going full-time with my photography over 7 years ago, you can have complete confidence that you’re in caring and very capable hands.
